PERSONALITY & ITS UNDERSTANDING DEFINES LIVING LIFE


Dear Reader,

PERSONALITY - HUMANS VS ANIMALS

The body structure of animals is similar to humans and hence there is now an ever-growing belief and recognition that personality is also an attribute of animals. Be it cats, dogs, hyenas or even diverse organisms such as sea anemones, limpets, fish, birds, rodents, ungulates, spiders, water striders and lizards, emerging research suggests that personality may exist across the entire animal kingdom. How else would one explain why some animals can be petted and others not? Just like an introvert will stay at home on a Saturday night or stand alone at a party, an octopus also attempts to hide - by changing color, in its den during feeding! The higher the animal species in the evolutionary ladder the closer is the personality to humans - for example, deliberation, self-discipline, dutifulness, order are also noticed in chimpanzees, the closest relatives of humans.

PERSONALITY - TYPES

Each person has a unique category known as either type 'A', 'B', 'C' or 'D'. The same has been differently mentioned by many others or described in various ways.
  1. Director - type 'A'
  2. Socializer - type 'B'
  3. Thinker - type 'C'
  4. Supporter - type 'D'

Learning how to identify people by personality type can bring a higher level of understanding to interpersonal relationships. The table above does provide a. broad insight but one must know what are the strong points and what are the 'put offs' for an individual donning a particular personality. Only then can one achieve a harmony in co-existence with such forced upon associations by either birth right (family and relatives), or work interactions (associates and bosses and subordinates), or even by intruders either by choice (friends) or uninvited (hostile individuals).

TYPE 'A'


17% of population have type 'A' personality.

TYPE 'B'


10% of population have type 'B' personality.

TYPE 'C'


46% of population have type 'C' personality.

TYPE 'D'



27% of population have type 'D' personality.

TYPE 'X'

This is a separate category which is applicable for individuals who have characteristics of 2 or more personalities in equal proportions.

PERSONALITY-WISE - TRAITS



Hence, seemingly, 50% of our interactions in this world are with people who are logical and detail-oriented. The dominant bosses as well as over-cautious approach individuals constitute another 25% of the globe!

BLISSFUL LIVING

We cannot choose our relatives - we can sure try to only understand them and try make peace, albeit uncompromized. However, there is calculated and a scheming possibility in deciding who others we need to be close in life - be it friends, subordinates, boss or even neighbors (new purchases).

As per my perception, experience & expectation the following is deduced.


As far as friends and subordinates are concerned, I have a yardstick to measure compatible chemistry - 

"Do you like the Hindi, mega-blockbuster of its time, movie: '3 Idiots'?

If the answer is 'No' I experience an averse feeling!!

Each one of us need to have choices to decide, depending on his / her own personality, based on a judgmental yardstick with whom to have close quarter relationship. Is our personality the ideal? Ponder. Can we aspire to change??? Some personality traits can change over a period of time whilst most remain stable during one's life. 

Remember, due to their effects on behavior and continuity over time, personality traits help shape the course of people's lives.

I assess myself as having 'X' personality with an admix of 'A', 'C' & 'D' traits - ? equal proportions. What is yours?

    As usual, something interesting coming out of your blog. Self assessment is little bit difficult.
    On a lighter note, one more personality is there called as 'Flexible or all rounder'.
